Amsterdam is quite an international city and it is important to think of those who come from other countries when it comes to prepare for marriage in the Catholic Church.

This course brings the participants in touch with other couples in the same situation and more experienced ones, who will help them think about their future married life.

The course will take two saturday afternoons and four wednesday evenings. More information can be found in the information document attached hereunder.
You'll also find the registration form there.

Mass on Saint Josemaria's Feast Day

Monday the 26th of June we shall celebrate the Mass to thank the Lord for Saint Josemaria's life.

You are all welcome to attend and celebrate afterward in the parish hall.

Is it possible to bring little kids to Mass on Sunday? - Yes

I would like to share with you this wonderful article written by experienced parents:

Sometimes at the end of Mass a parishioner comes up to us and says “Your three children are SO well behaved!” Our standard response is either, “Thank you. We work at it” or “Thank you, some days are better than others.” The “better” days are the product of years of articles and brochures we read on taking children to Mass. Here is the distilled wisdom we rely upon.

Hearts of Jesus and Mary

Friday, June 24, and Saturday, June 25, we celebrate the feasts of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

On Friday, Masses are at 12:15 and at 7:30 pm in the chapel (218B).

On Saturday, Mass is at 7:00 p.m. in the church.

First Communions

On June 12th a group of children did their first Holy Communion during the evening Mass

The professional photographer was this time Luciana Benaduce Figueirido

Procession of Corpus Domini with Mgr Hendriks and Mor Polycarpus

Some people who attended sent these pictures and videos. (See the city and the church)

With thanks to the Syrian Orthodox Community you may follow the whole procession that was sent as live-stream.

First Holy Communions

With thanks to the parents of the children who participated in the catechesis this academic year.

With gratitude to the children who prepared very well and with true devotion.

Have a look at a few pictures of the parents during the First Communions

The Holy Spirit and the Blessed Trinity

You can listen to the audio of the homily:

The Holy Spirit and our own spiritual life; this one is in Dutch for a great part.

The Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; this one fully in English.

EWTN TV in the church

On Palm Sunday, a small TV crew came to make a recording of the church as part of a program about traveling in Europe.

After they had been to Nicholas Parish and Chalk Mountain, they came to see us. The result is beautiful, I think. You can now judge for yourself,

Procession of Corpus Christi June 19th

The procession with the Blessed Sacrament through the center of Amsterdam has become a tradition, interrupted for two years, due to well-known reasons.

In 2004, the procession moved along the canals for the first time since 1578 under great interest and since then it has always been celebrated with great devotion.

The Church of Our Lady - Mother of God (Keizersgracht 220), together with the Syrian Orthodox Church, is organizing another procession together with other Orthodox clergy and faithful on Sacrament's Day, June 19, marching through the city with the Blessed Sacrament. You are most welcome to attend.

Program Sunday, June 19:

11.15 Solemn Eucharist in Our Lady's Church

12.30 Sacramental Procession along the ring of canals

13.30 Solemn Liturgy in Our Lady's Church at the end of the service

14.00 Social gathering in the hall next to the church

Happy Easter

Happy Easter, dear parishioners and friends.

May the risen Lord bless us and help us be witnesses to his Resurrection. He lives!
